Tidewater 2022 Winter League Rules

Tidewater Ultimate Indoor League Rules

  1. 5 on 5. The preferred gender ratio will be 3 men: 2 women, but can be changed with captain’s discretion and player availability. This can be changed either for the full game or by half

  2. Field length will be smaller to fit onto the indoor soccer field. The playing field will be 120’ by 70’ with an additional 20’ endzone on each side.

  3. Stall counts. Stalls will be to 7. If there is a contested stall call, the count will come back in no higher than 5. If there is a contested foul call, the stall can come in no higher than 4.

  4. Continuous play. There will be a pull to start the first half. Whenever a team scores, they drop the disc where the receiving player caught it. The opposite team will then walk the disc directly up to the goal line where they then tap the disc in to start play. At the start of the second half, the teams will switch who is performing the initial pull and the endzones that teams are scoring in

  5. Each game will consist of two 11-minute halves and a 2 minute half time. At the end of each half, the disc must be thrown by the time that the clock strikes 0 for the goal to count

  6. Games can end in ties during the regular season. For the playoffs, ties are not allowed. If the score remains tied once the second half buzzer goes off, play continues until one team scores during the playoffs

  7. Substitutions. Hockey-style subbing for the game can happen at any time. A player exits from the field will pass their hand close enough to a player on the sideline to give a high five (although no high five is necessary). The player coming in must be the same gender as the one leaving.

  8. No timeouts for either team

  9. Any rules not directly stated will come from USAU’s latest rule book found here
