Green-William Moreland had a bunch of great Ds and some good scores
Blue-Ethan and Hana-self explanatory.
White-Paolo for playing through very apparent pain effectively the whole game against green. Nick Dehoust and Will both had multiple really good Ds throughout the game! And offensive shout out to JP for being open on every under!

2022 Summer League Week 3

Round 1:

White over Charcoal 9-7

The youngins of white storm off to an early 7-4 lead, capped by a 40 yard from 14-year-old Nate to 10-year-old Damien. Charcoal comes back to tie at 7-7 using an effective 6 person diamond clam. Unfortunately, multiple goal line turns allow White to score the final two.

Orange over Red 12-4

Red missing many players to injuries struggled in a blowout to Orange. Adam had one of the plays of the week, sacrificing his body on a great layout score.

Blue over Green 11-8

Mark from Green made plays all over in a losing effort. Skying two big deep throws

Round 2:

Orange over Charcoal 10-6

Forrest got a layout D. It was sick. Matt from Orange also had a really nice score in the middle of Orange’s 6-2 score to end the game

Blue over Red 11-5

[Game recap redacted]

White over Green 9-7

“Can we nominate Izzy for travel of the week?” was posted in the captain’s chat. Who will win the weekly award next week? My money is on either of the lefty huckers on Green.

2022 Summer League Standings Week 2

Results:

Round 1:

Blue over Charcoal 12-9

Blue builds an early lead with a dominant deep game. Jack in particular came to play with huge skies and some nice deep throws. Charcoal scored 4 in a row late in the game to bring it within two, but it was too late.

White over Orange 10-9

White jumps out to an early 5-0 lead before orange crawls back. They were able to snag a D right before the card cap horn to secure the victory

Green over Red 13-7

Ryleigh’s deep game opened up a lot of options for Red. Unfortunately, trouble defending give and gos from Green’s handler prevented any serious comebacks from happening

Orange over Blue 10-9

White over Red 12-5

Standings:

White 4-0

2022 Summer League Standings

Results:

Round 1:

White over Green 12-5

White starts the game on fire with a big grab from Ryan who flipped it to 11-year-old Damien who immediately has a big spike post-score. Green came out shooting big throws, but don’t connect on enough of them to come back from an early 6-2 deficit.

Orange over Charcoal 10-7

Charcoal starts the game off with countless handler miscues. Orange on the other hand had their deep game on lock. Jaime and Dan shot plenty off shots to their tall athletic cutters like Sam, Alan, and Shawna. They get off to a 7-3 half time lead and cruise in the second half

Red over Blue 9-6

Valiant from blue as they were missing both captains and other star players. Mary’s deep cuts, Christophe’s hucks, and their zone D weren’t quite enough as they lose a tight one

Round 2:

White over Blue 11-7

Charcoal over red 9-7

Green over Orange 10-9

Offensive player of the week:

Mary from Blue team. In a Dante-esque performance, she scores many goals in two close losses. She was unstoppable in the deep space, generating open deep cuts on almost every point. Blue will be dangerous if their other deep cutters come back next week

Defensive player of the week:

Andy from Charcoal. Always the gentleman, this man would apologize before laying out and getting great Ds in the end zone over and over. He had 3-4 against orange and another few against red.

Rookie of the week:

Damien from White. This 11-year-old set a league record as the youngest player to score a goal in league history. He then soon became the youngest to score multiple goals. He clearly came prepared breaking out the spike celebration, fake-spike, and drive the bus. Who knows what he will bring next week after his scores

Next week’s game of the week: Green vs Charcoal

This will be the CNU game, as both teams feature multiple players and coaches from the school. Both teams played Orange tight, so it should be a tight game, too

Standings:

White 2-0

Green 1-1

Orange 1-1

Charcoal 1-1

Red 1-1

Blue 0-2
